Southwest Airlines to begin New International Service from Houston Hobby to Six Destinations


According to the latest news report – Southwest Airlines issued a statement that it is going to start new international service from William P. Hobby Airport’s international terminal to six destinations. It is known from a source that the employees belonging to southwest Airlines have launched new international service this week in the celebrations of 45 years history of a deal in between Homeland security of US Department and Houston Airport, serving the customers of Houston with new gate concourses. The new five concourses include Border protection, Daily International service to travelers, traveling from William P. Hobby Airport which is in Houston, new concessions offered for travelers along a federal inspection station offered for customs operations and protecting the border. The Airlines announced that they are going to start new daily international service from November to eight international destinations. These new service is going to offer best customer service to Houstonians who are traveling from Houston to these new destinations.

It is said by Airlines at a news conference that they have initiated the new service with 305 model flight to Cancun and is departed from first to the fifth gate in the new west concourse of Airport. It is said by Southwest Airlines that they have included local employees in this service and the company has joined many Houstonians in this service whose efforts made the airlines bring the new international service to William P. Hobby Airport, Houston. In 2012, the expansion proposal made by Southwest Airlines was approved by the city council of Houston. The proposal of Southwest Airlines is to expand its services across the borders from the William P. Hobby Airport of Houston by using an international concourse and federal inspection station. This is to free the Houston Airport from the long burden fare rates of flights and domestic-only capability. Southwest Airlines has started this new facility on September 30, 2013, and later after two years, the airlines complete the total project with 156 million dollars, which is on time and inside budget. During the completion of the project, Southwest Airlines has worked efficiently giving the opportunity to multiple small enterprises of business along with giving the opportunity to minority and business enterprises owned by women (SBE/MWBE). These new opportunities have met the requirements of SBE/MWBE exceeding the enterprises away from Houston city.

In addition, international themed festivals which are regular at Houston airport offering customers lucky prizes of vacations around Southwest. The new destinations include Belize City, which is going to be the 96th city in which Southwest Airlines is offering its services. It is known from a source that the Southwest Airlines has started its services twice a day which are non-stop and serving the passengers to and from Cancun along with the non-stop services offered in between Houston and city of Mexico, continued to other three cities of Mexico like San Jose del Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, and Los Cabos. In addition, there is non-stop service introduced in between Houston and Costa Rica from 15th October, providing daily services from San Jose, the capital city of Nation. Moreover, there is additional service provided to Liberia in the province of Guanacaste belonging to Costa Rica. It is going to be the 97th city of Houston Airport and is going to start from November 1st, 2015. On the same day, Southwest Airlines is going to start non-stop daily service to Jamaica, Montego Bay, and Houston Hobby.
