Icelandair is one among the leading airlines providing airline services or many countries. Recently, Icelander announced that it is going to extend its seasonal airline service which is currently carrying on between Portland and Oregon. According to the latest news report, the airlines announced that they are thinking to extend their seasonal flight services further from Portland International Airport. It is announced by Icelandair that they are thinking to start these new extension services from 11th May 2016. The newly extended services are going to serve passengers who are willing to travel to Oregon on both business and holiday trips. Birkir Holm Gudnason was the CEO of Icelandair. He said that the additional flights are going to start soon for serving business and as well as leisure passengers. He added that they are moving ahead to spread their airline services in the Pacific Northwest region. He also said that they are expecting for further development of Portland in coming years. It is announced by Icelandair that the expanded airline services are going to start soon and will serve twice a week. Moreover, the airline is going to introduce non-stop service flight service on Wednesdays and Fridays. These extended flight services are going to schedule from Portland to Keflavik International Airport, which is a Portland hub. Later, after introducing these additional flights from the month of May, an additional flight will be added in the month of June i.e., from June 5th, 2016, providing flight services on Sunday. If all these extended flight services experience good traffic, then the airlines would transform the service of additional flight serving on Sundays to provide its service thrice a week. If it succeeds in such a way, then the additional flight service proposal of serving thrice a week will come into play from October 16th, 2016.
Icelandair provided a schedule for additional flights reporting that flight no.664 would depart from Portland at 3:40 PM PST and will arrive at Iceland in the early morning. From the Iceland airport, passengers can travel to further European destinations like Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Oslo etc. Icelandair has kept a target to gain 53 percent hike more than 2015, scheduling to survey on October 26th, 2016. Keith Leavitt, the chief commercial officer of Portland, said that the non-stop flights provided by Icelandair to Reykjavik will serve the metro area residents of Portland and as well residents belonging to southwest Washington in this summer. He added that this pre-announcement would be great news for passengers who are thinking to travel for Europe in next summer. In addition Icelandair airlines is going to serve its flight services to Iceland from different destinations like Denver, Boston, New York-JFK, Seattle, Washington D.C, Chicago-ORD, Edmonton, Toronto. In addition, the airline is going to offer seasonal flight services from Halifax, Vancouver BC, Montreal, Newark, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Orlando, Portland, and Anchorage. All these are global network connections of Icelandair airlines hub which is at Keflavik International Airport. Moreover, additional flight services are available for more destinations belonging to Scandinavia, Europe and London. Icelander airline is the only one which facilitates its passengers to take back airfare up to seven nights after stopover without any additional charges.
