7 March, Dubai: A Leadership Summit covering the industry of Air Freight/Cargo, thought by Kale, was conducted in Hotel Hyatt Regency, Dubai recently. The summit, for the first time, came as an interactive platform different from other events of the industry and saw a huge participation of the topmost airlines, industry associations, air freight handlers, regulators as well as industry consultants.
The summit aimed at creating a platform of interaction and moved further with a discussion of industrial issues with a round-table format which involved all those participating. The schedule of the summit included four sessions for one and a half day focussing significantly on subjects like “Enabling e-freight”, “Statutory Compliances & Controls”, “Changing the Business Environment” and “A New Horizon – GHA of Modern Age”. The central issues of concern for the Air Cargo Industry were discussed with refreshing, informative and insightful sessions, providing new viewpoints.
There was a strong discussion of e-AWB and e-freight, with all the leaders agreeing to the mechanism needed to look at 100 percent electronic freight adoption and to the need of a regulatory compulsion for enhancing global adoption. Leading company chairmen and directors described the summit as focused, well-organised, an eye-opener and progressive.
Vipul Jain, Chairman, Kale Logistics said that they received an overwhelming response, enthusiasm and energy from the air freight industry. He added that the summit was their attempt of enabling industrial advancement and transformation.
Kale logistics is distinct as it is the country’s first ever platform for community of air cargo. More than 1800 freight forwarders use the platform which has succeeded in processing more than 3.5m EDI transactions covering 500 destinations from its launch till today.
