The International Airport of Dubai saw a rise of 3.4% up to 2.5m tonnes in cargo volumes even after operators of cargo services moved to the Dubai World Central.

In the previous year, new airlines were welcomed by the International Airport, which include Eurowings – Cologne, China Southern – Wuhan and Air Canada – Toronto. Flydubai and Emirates widened their network and the Indian services also increased with a provision of flights by SpiceJet daily from Amritsar and Kozhikode.

Paul Griffiths, CEO, Dubai Airport, said that in this another successful year they have broken records and entertained their customers differently along with retaining their best international hub world-wide position.
